In the series of artworks titled “Kultur vs Zivilisation” the artist investigates the relationship between man and technology by setting figures in a futuristic era dominated by the silent and overwhelming presence of technology. The artist faces not only the struggle between human reality and virtual dimension but also psychological themes such as the double, the shadow, the awareness of our own identity as individuals.The series proposes in a peculiar way the contrast between “kultur” and “zivilisation”.
The contrast between culture and nature has been dealt with great authors during the centuries, first of all the italian philosopher of the XVIII century Giambattista Vico, or the great poet Giacomo Leopardi. Then the theme became part of the philosophical reflection of the romanticism and of the psychoanalysis.
